OUR INSPIRATION
The inspiration stemmed from an MBA candidate, who in addition to being a student was also a mother of 3 and an entrepreneur. While fulfilling these commitments, she also had to actively manage her household. Putting her MBA training into action, she set out to create a solution to manage households of all backgrounds like an efficient business; motivating and involving all family members towards improving their organization and productivity, optimizing precious resources to reallocate towards achieving their household goals. From there, OIKO was formed to revolutionize the home productivity experience.
The name OIKO stems from the ancient Greek word “Oikonomia” which refers to three related but distinct concepts: the family, the family's property, and the house.

We are a passionate group of five MBA students from UCLA Anderson, brought together by our shared vision for innovation and impact. Originally, OIKO was chosen as our Capstone project – a deep dive into market research to uncover the potential of our idea.

Our mission is to inspire a cultural shift towards a more equitable and sustainable future, where household management is efficient and effortless, and people have more time to focus on what matters most. Our solution has the power to revolutionize household management by empowering individuals and families to break free from traditional gender roles and achieve true equality in the home. OIKO is a mobile-first household organizer designed for families with children. OIKO optimizes home management by simplifying tasks like managing to-do lists amongst family members, synchronizing schedules, etc. OIKO features a digital assistant that will work to ease your load in the background and help you mitigate abrupt changes in your family's plans. It is always learning and adapting to your family's needs, so you can be confident of receiving the best possible support. OIKO makes it easy for families to stay updated while making good decisions without having to constantly provide manual inputs. OIKO reduces anxiety, stress, consolidates tools, and saves time for what matters most.
